Procrastination is a big issue for me, and I have not been getting any better at managing it lately.
First of all, in my view procrastination is when someone (in this post, myself) avoids or puts off a task until a later date. Now, I know what you may be saying, procrastination is for losers and people that get bad grades. But am I really a loser or someone that gets bad grades??? (Leave your thoughts in the comments)
Refer to my list of advantages and disadvantages of procrastination below:
Advantages of Procrastination
- Allows you to use your time in the present to what you want to use it for, rather than getting boring work done
- Temporarily frees stress
Disadvantages of Procrastination
- Creates more work for the future
- Limits amount of time to complete that work
- May even require more work thanks to other work
- Disables your future time for using what you want to do with it
As it may seem in my list above that there are just a few more disadvantages than advantages, not procrastinating isn’t all good news either, what if your teacher assigns a huge project that is due in two weeks, then he realizes that he gave you the wrong one? He’ll have to reassign the original project, thus probably making the people who finished the other project a waste of time… Anyways, this is a very unlikely line of events…
If you are a good student that makes exceptionally high grades, then procrastination may be the right tool for you(like me, but I don’t make exceptionally high grades 🙂 ). But, if you’re a terrible student that makes exceptionally low grades in about the F range, then I would highly recommend that procrastination isn’t one of your abilities and that you should probably take a reality check.
All in all, anyone can be whoever they want to be, rather a Genius or a Noob, it doesn’t matter. Its their choice, their life, they live it how they see fit.
–>As always, I hope you’re having a great day, and if you’re feeling up to it, please leave a comment with your thoughts below. 🙂
